KBCD Capital is a family office that acquires exceptional small businesses from owners who are ready to pass the torch. We grow what they built, take care of their people, and honor the legacy they leave behind.
Our approach →KBCD Capital is a family holding company — not a fund, not a firm. There are no outside investors to answer to, no exit timeline, no mandate to maximize short-term returns. We invest our own capital, we operate directly, and we commit for the long term.
We are highly selective by design. We make a small number of acquisitions, deliberately. Each business we acquire gets our full attention, our personal involvement, and our genuine commitment to its continued growth.
We are not the right buyer for everyone — and that's exactly the point. The owners we work with aren't looking for the highest bidder. They're looking for the right person.
In September 2025, KBCD Capital acquired Fabric Backing & Finishing Co. — a specialty textile finishing business with over 30 years of history, serving interior designers, workrooms, and upholsterers across the country.
The business had everything we look for: loyal customers, a strong reputation built over decades, and a team that genuinely cared about their work. The previous owner had built something real. Our job was to honor that and take it further.
We kept the team intact, deepened the customer relationships, rebuilt the operational structure, and introduced modern systems — including AI-assisted operations that dramatically reduced the administrative burden on the business.
Within seven months, the business hit its best revenue performance in its 30-year history. That result wasn't despite what the previous owner built — it was because of it.
KBCD stands for Kate, Crispin, Brynn, and Declan — the family behind everything we do. We named our company after ourselves because we mean it: this is personal, it is permanent, and it reflects who we are.
Crispin spent 15 years building and scaling companies as a founding executive, chief commercial officer, and general manager across domestic and international markets. We know what it takes to build a team, drive growth, and run a business day to day.
We settled in Atlanta because we intend to put down roots here. KBCD is not a career move — it is a family commitment. We are building a small collection of businesses we are genuinely proud of, and we are in no rush to get there.
When you sell to KBCD, you are not selling to a fund or a stranger. You are handing something you built to a family that will care for it the way you did.
If you've spent years building something worth being proud of and you're beginning to think about what comes next — reach out. No brokers, no process. Just a quiet and honest conversation between families about what you've built and what matters to you.
